The Mousery
This page is a more detailed collection of the varieties I breed in the mice & a desciption there of.
I also have details of lines I have previously worked with, that for one reason or another, are no longer being worked with. These are at the bottom of the page.

Standard & Rex Siamese Fox line
A fairly new line so far, only having become to full concentration in 2014. This line is especially dark, build to be leaner but still large mice. They are very calm & docile, easy to handle, males living in colonies easily & females raise litters together especially well. This line is heavily inbred/line-bred, with most matings being half sibling to full sibling.
This line has zero record of tumours, a handful of respiratory cases. Currently, as of April 2014, a wasting issue has been noted in a dozen young mice & work is being made to remove the issue. Majority of this lines members live to 18 months, some have lived to 2yrs.
These mice have a weak trace back to ICED Black Douglas, BTQ Deadly Nightshade & MSR Sauce.

Standard Black Eyed White line *BEWs*
Started in 2012, these mice were found in feeder colonies & grow to be large, robust mice with long lives & few health issues. They started with a half sibling pair & have been inbred consistently. A handful of these mice are Fawn-based, but this is slowly being weeded out. Most are Agouti or Black underneather their white, as these are from an over-marking gene. These mice are more "bull-dog" in stature, throwing litters of 8-12 pups, males living in colonies easily & females raising litters together well.
To date, there are zero tumour cases & 11 respiratory cases. They routinely throw bandeds, blaze bandeds & "Dutch" type mice.

Longcoat Siamese & Himalayan Self & Fox line
A very old line, this line can trace itself directly back to ICED Black Douglas, originating from GG The Beginning of The End, & are heavily inbred. These mice are bred almost exclusively for coat & conformation, along with health. They live for 2yrs, are larger mice, very energetic & very curious. Males do not always make good colony candidates, however females raise litters very well together & produce small numbers with good individual size. These mice also carry Manx & routinely produce it.
Unknown dilutes have appeared & have washed out their points, however this will be remedied in due time with the introduction of a suitable Longcoat Black Self buck.

"Old Line" Standard, Rex, Longcoat, Texel & Drexel line.
Another line of mice that descend from ICED Black Douglas, these mice also came from GG The Beginning of The End, however they branched off for a different look with the help of two distantly related Standard Albino doe's & MSR Sauce, a Rex Himalayan Fox buck, to bring back the Rex.
Bred for docility, they are easy going & laid back mice. Again, bred for health, their size varies slightly in that some reach quite a good size & others are fairly meager. The males are especially docile & can be transferred between colonies without issue, usually. Females nest together.
They come in Albino, Himalayan & a washed out Siamese, most are Self though I have had the odd Fox in these occur. They're slowly coming together for conformation, but their coat is far more impressive.
Photos Coming!

~Discontinued~ Standard Black Self line
Black Selfs - As expected, these are typically a solid black mouse. It's very hard to get good Black Self mice in Australia, as they're used to outcross so many other colours that the colour is diluted & it can quite adversely effect the other colours. I aim to get the 'perfect' black self line, which will also have excellent conformation, & I will eventually show them.
This line here is a small branch off from an older line of Standard Tan Line of mice that I have since discontinued, the mice in this line being more robust than the original line. Unfortunately, I only have a few mice to work with in regards to this line & so I am reluctant to release any, even to other experienced breeders, however in 2013, I released a few to others to work with.
They are all very friendly & confident mice, even with minimal handling. This line has few ailments, members typically living to 18 months quite easily. Any illness that has befallen individuals, of which there has been few, have been in older animals that are nearing their last days.
The females seem to throw only small litters, the largest being 6 & the smallest 3, pups typically being fat & robust. There is some recessive white spotting genes lurking, so sometimes there are marked mice. There is the genes for Manx lurking also, but I do not breed for Manx, & have not produced a single Manx from these mice.
So far, whilst it is still new, I am rather proud of these mice & will hopefully exhibit them in future.

~Discontinued~ Texel & Drexel Black Self line
A few Black Self Texel & Drexel female mice
Black Selfs - As expected, these are typically a solid black mouse. I aim to get the 'perfect' black self line, which will also have excellent conformation, & I will eventually show them.
Texels & Drexels - These are both longcoated varieties with either a single rex gene (Texel) or two rex genes (Drexel). Texels have tighter curls than Drexels & hold their coat much longer. Drexels once they're around 8 weeks old, will lose all their hair, except for some fuzz plus their eyebrows & whiskers, & be mostly bald or look like they've been 'buzzed cut' for a few weeks whilst their adult fur grows in.
This line is bred solely in Black Selfs because they can be utterly stunning mice. They do occassionally throw Beige, Colour Point Beige, Siamese or Himalayans, but these are rare.
There are actually two branches to this line. One branch decends down from Solas, a Longcoat Sabled Fawn Brindle marked, plus a second branch that decends down from Boutique Deadly Nightshade. Each female was chosen because of good health, coat, temperment & form. This has allowed me to have a 'back up' should something happen to one side.
Both have been combined genetically through the original buck, Iced Black Douglas, & then again through half siblings, GG Horace (Solas) & GG Stupify (Nightshade) & GG Stricken (Nightshade). The pattern shall be repeated indefinately.
This line is my first & oldest line, & probably the dearest. The majority of mice descend down from my very first Texel Black Self, Iced Black Douglas, who was a lovely & most utterly gorgeous boy. All mice from this line are very special to me.
Texel & Drexel are also called Longcoat Rex & Longcoat Double Rex in Australia. I call them Texel & Drexel.

~Discontinued~ Longcoat line
Chocolate, Black Tan & Lilac females
Black Selfs, Chocolate Selfs, Blue Selfs & Lilac Selfs - Chocolates are soft brown coloured mice, like that of milk chocolate. Blue is a cool slate grey, similar to that of the rat-blue. Lilacs are a combination of both Chocolate & Blue, being a warmer type of grey colour. Occassionally I do get Blacks, but not all together very often.
Longcoat - Long, straight fur of considerable length. Coat should be as thick, or a bit thicker, than a Standard coat. Depending on the quality of the line will depend on the length of coat.
Manx - most mice in this line either are Manx (tailess) or Manx carries, so I do sometimes produce Manx mice.
This line is really just to create really nice Longcoats & some nice Manx as well. I do get marked mice & some Tans, as the original male was a Longcoat Marked Chocolate Tan called Tim Tam. The original girls were Rock n Pop Mirabelle, a Longcoat Lilac, & her Longcoat Chocolate Self Manx sister Rock n Pop Rosalind, both of whom are beautiful mice.

~Discontinued~ Standard Tan line
Standard Dove Tan female
Black Tans, Chocolate Tans, Dove Tans & Champagne Tans - Similar to a Self, except these ones have a yellow to orange underbelly. No one really works with Tans, & I personally love the look of a good Tan.
Black Tans are obviously Black & Tan bellied mice, Chocolate Tans are brown & Tan bellied mice, Dove Tans are a pink-eyed Black Tan & are a soft grey with Tan belly, & Champagne Tan are pink-eyed Chocolate tans & are often a rich golden colour with Tan belly. I do sometimes throw simply beautiful Standard Black Self mice, which are often crossed back into the line to improve on conformation.
Standard - Straight, smooth & short fur. This is the most common variety of coat available.
Excellent colour & conformation is the aim of this line. I have yet to throw any Siamese or Himalayans, though they do lurk in the genetic background of these mice.
This line originated from a litter of four mice, who parents were a gorgeous Standard Black Self buck called Iced Karloff Vodka & a beautiful Standard Chocolate Tan doe called Iced Bushfire.
~Due to some health issues with my Tan mice, this line is currently on hold, though I have continued with another branch of it, this main part is currently being considered for closing.~

~Discontinued~ Sabled Brindles
When I orignally started breeding mice, I had wanted to breed Sable Brindles in various colours. They would be in Longcoat, Texel & Drexel. I only ever produced a few of them. I haven't bred any since concentrating on the Texel Black Selfs, but am looking at breeding one of the last Texel Fawn Sabled males left to continue the bloodline. (See Texel Black Selfs).
